Watch for Falling Rocks

As we hiked through the bluffs on Lover’s Leap Ridge on this warm January day, a rockfall sent this sizeable stone tumbling into the trail as we scattered away from the line of fire. This rock came to rest in the middle of the trail after tumbling across another section farther uphill. It would be prudent to stay aware on days like this, when freeze-thaw action makes erosion and rockfall a real possibility!
