Next week, take an opportunity to go on a guided hike along the crest of the Craggy Mountains on the Mountains to Sea Trail! Experience grand views into the Craggy Mountain Roadless Area/Wilderness Study Area as the trail ascends around the Craggy Pinnacle; descend into the coolness and quiet of the northern hardwood forest in this roadless area that has been recommended for wilderness designation. The hike is part of the Roadless Recreation Week, which will feature a number of activities in Western North Carolina roadless areas.
3 mile moderate hike. Carpool from the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway at 8:30 AM. Hike will start at the Craggy Gardens Picnic Area off the Blue Ridge Parkway on Tuesday, August 10, 2010; 8:30 AM-12:00 Noon.
