Crabtree Falls Campground Re-Opening in 2015

posted in: Outdoors | 1

The National Park Service has announced its 2015 Spring/Summer facility schedule, which confirms that the Crabtree Falls campground will reopen on May 1, 2015! The campground has been closed since the end of season in 2012 due to budget cuts. The campground is also the starting point for the popular Crabtree Falls trail.

The campground is still absent from the Blue Ridge Parkway’s Campgrounds page, but we hope they’ll add it back there soon as well.

We’re glad to see the Park Service recognizing the need to keep quality public camping facilities such as Crabtree Falls open. It’s always been one of my favorites!

Attached is the Parkway’s Operating Hours & Seasons for Spring/Summer 2015, showing the full schedule.
